Luxury & Expeditions Cruises is part of Tailor-Made Journeys Pty Ltd.  Also trading as Antarctica Travel Centre, Arctic Travel Centre and South America Travel Centre. We are specialists in Luxury & Expedition cruising to the world’s most remote and beautiful places. We have hand-picked a small number of the best ships and operators that we know well and trust to provide you with a holiday of a lifetime.

We are a member of IAATO (International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators), and AECO (Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators) as well as a member of AFTA (Australian Federation of Travel Agents) and of ATAS (AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme) who set the benchmark of quality for the travel industry.

It’s our first-hand knowledge that allows us to help you organise what could be described as the ultimate holiday. We will also look after your flights as well as any pre and post cruise arrangements.

Meet The Team

Between us we have the experience of  eleven trips to Antarctica (Falklands & South Georgia), eight to the High Arctic (Canadian and Scandinavian) and perhaps the ultimate Polar Expedition cruise the North Pole.  We’ve also experienced over a dozen Galapagos boats (and voyages) and numerous journeys into the Amazon and Patagonian regions of South America.  Add in other expedition cruises to the Kimberley, Raja Ampat, Norway and Iceland and you’ll hopefully understand why we are well placed to help you arrange your cruise.  We’re also independent and can offer impartial advice (unlike an operator who will only offer their own product) on a range of ships and operators.

In 2001/2 I undertook the first of many voyages to Antarctica & the High Arctic (Svalbard). Expedition Cruising became a passion. I have returned to Antarctic 4 more times and also included South Georgia and the Falkland Islands. In 2019 I explored closer to home enjoying a cruise through the Kimberley. The ancient landscapes and unique rock formations were fascinating. Seeing this region by boat allowed us to explore some of the most remote places in Australia.

My inaugural cruise to Antarctica was in 2004, I have been fortunate to head back twice since then (2014 & 2018), the experience was beyond all of my expectations. . In the last couple of years I’ve returned to the Galapagos Islands and most recently to the stunning Raja Ampat region of Indonesia.

You will travel on your own, at your pace, accompanied by private guides and drivers with private, air conditioned vehicles.  We help you select the best Luxury or Expedition Cruise, ship, operator and time of the season to get the most enjoyment from your cruise.  We start by asking lots of questions – what is your preferred style of cruise, what size of ship (as this can have a significant impact on your experience), what are your key interests (e.g. wildlife, photography, kayaking, history and cuisine) and do you have any particular personal interests you might like to include.

We are well versed in flight schedules and we’ll ensure you don’t waste time at airports, or make unnecessary early starts where they can be avoided, and most important of all not to miss your expedition cruise.

Before you depart we provide you with a bound booklet of detailed documentation to take with you. It includes everything you need to know; where you are going, what time your flights and transfers are, additional activities you may consider in your spare time, safety tips, emergency contact phone numbers, phrases in the native tongue of your destination that you may wish to try out, and some additional restaurants and sites you may like to visit.
