Alaska is a vast, largely untouched, region of snow-capped mountains, breathtaking fjords, and extraordinary wildlife. Two smaller expedition boats (with fewer than 100 guests) explore inlets and coves where larger cruise ships can’t sail and taking guests deeper into pure wilderness. You may witness the power of a calving glacier, kayak past foraging bears or Zodiac alongside a pod of orcas. Become immersed in First Nations culture in Haida Gwaii, and explore epic wildernesses like Glacier Bay National Park, guided by passionate experts with in-depth knowledge and experience of America’s final frontier.

The Inside Passage weaves through a series of islands and channels from Alaska (USA) to British Columbia (Canada). The Alaskan section is about 800kms long and offers stunning mountain views and wonderful wildlife viewing, in addition to opportunities to kayak and hike. Humpback whales and orcas are often seen, other wildlife includes, the incredibly cute sea otter, brown and black bears, Stellar sealions, seals and bald eagles. Travelling on smaller (100 guest maximum) offers access to smaller bays and channels that larger ships cannot enter.
The Inside Passage is a favoured place for Humpbacks and Orcas. From May to September up to 500 Humpbacks can be found feeding in the rich waters of Alaska’s Inside Passage, with Juneau, Ketchikan & Sitka Bay all offering great opportunities to see these giants feeding and playing. It is believed that there are over 100 Orcas and May and June are considered the best months; that said the whales are spotted year-round.
Glacier Bay is part of a bi-national UNESCO World Heritage Site it is home to seven major glaciers (but no roads).
