The True North caters for a maximum of just 36 guests and allows discerning adventurers to experience wilderness in surroundings more akin to one of the world’s most exclusive hotels. This purpose built (2005) ship offers a number of excellent vantage points including a sundeck, a forward observation lounge, a ship’s lounge and an alfresco bar. The ship’s naturalist presents interpretative information on wall mounted screens in the ship’s lounge and, an internet café enables convenient communication with the outside world.
A popular venue on any True North cruise, the lower deck dining room offers the ultimate in comfort and uninterrupted vista with large panoramic windows ensuring that you never miss any of the action, even when they are enjoying the excellent on-board dining. All cabins feature stylish décor, en-suite facilities, in-house entertainment and satellite telephones. The Explorer Class and River Class staterooms offer king size beds that can be converted to singles and the Ocean Class twins feature roomy single beds.
To add yet another dimension to adventure, most cruise options feature an on-board helicopter True North (please note flights are not included in the voyage price) is able to explore the upper reaches of shallow river systems you need only step out of your cabin to experience wilderness and, the latest in computer controlled motion stabilizers ensures a comfortable ride.

The ultra-quiet EC130 B4 incorporates latest technology as defined by EUROCOPTER’s new generation of helicopters. It has a maximum gross weight of 2.4 tonnes and offers a generous cabin that comfortably accommodates a pilot and 6 passengers on individual leather seats.
Featuring air-conditioning and large cabin windows, it is perfectly suited for aerial expeditions.
Heli-ops are supervised by Rob Colbert who is the chief pilot at Skyhook Helicopters. Rob has been working in and flying around the Kimberley for more than 20 years and he has been associated with True North Adventure Cruises for much of that time. He has a keen interest in fishing, local history and indigenous culture. He has developed entertaining commentary for all of the TRUE NORTH heli-flights.
